Somerset CC is continuing to back biofuels, despite more reports linking the fuel to climate change and rising food prices. Somerset is co-ordinating the Somerset Biofuel Project which aims to expand the network of biofuel pumps in the region. Ian Bright, the council's renewable energy officer, said: ‘There are very, very complex issues going on here. ‘We are looking to see not only how we can implement it most successfully but also how we can ensure its production is sourced sustainably.'
