Southwark LBC has appointed Susanna White as strategic director of health and community services and chief executive of Southwark Primary Care Trust. Ms White will take over from Chris Bull who is leaving the joint post to concentrate full time on his role as deputy chief executive with the council. Mr Bull will continue in the current position until the starting date has been agreed. Currently head of housing and community services at Hounslow LBC which she joined in 1998, Ms White was director of social services and health partnerships until 2005 but over the last year has taken over responsibility for adult social services and health improvement. The Commission for Social Care Inspection has awarded Southwark's adult social services a top three star rating for three years in a row, and council leader Nick Stanton said the authority has ‘a track record for excellence' and is committed to closer integration with health services. Mee Ling Ng, chair of Southwark Primary Care Trust, said: ‘Susanna comes with an impressive track record of achievement and will bring extensive experience of working across the health and social system to build on our successes.'
