Halton Council's library service has achieved a record 97% public satisfaction rating in the annual public library user survey. During 2006, the number of library readers rose by 10%, and Halton's 25,000 library members made 600,000 visits to their local libraries, borrowing some 667,000 books. Recent library promotions included a chance to win £500 of Asda vouchers and free copies of Andrea Levy's award-winning novel, Small Island.
