Chris Duffield is to retire as town clerk and chief executive of the City of London Corporation on 14 September after 39 years in local government.

Chris Duffield is to retire as town clerk and chief executive of the City of London Corporation on 14 September after 39 years in local government.

Before his appointment to the City of London in 2003, Mr Duffield worked at Bexley LBC where he was director of finance for four years, before being appointed chief executive in 1995.
