The Olympic Stadium could become a national icon for the Big Society initiative, according to the council bidding to run it.
Newham LBC handed over details of its final bid to help run the 2012 Olympic Stadium, its chief executive played down the role of premier league football club, West Ham. The council also revealed it was unable to make public details of how the project would be financed, due to bidding rules.
