Assaults on public service staff in Scotland are on the increase, according to new figures. A survey by public sector union, Unison, revealed the number of violent attacks on local government and health workers over the past were are up by 2,000. Unison is now calling for a better co-ordinated approach to tackling the problem, with councils and health boards monitoring and sharing information on violent clients.
