A public spending watchdog has warned the future of councils' trading standards services in Scotland is under threat.

The future of councils' trading standards services in Scotland is under threat, due to a loss of jobs and skills to other departments, a public spending watchdog has warned.

Published today, the report from the Accounts Commission suggests consumers could be left unprotected due to gaps in the service. The Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) is now taking a lead on the issue.
