Strategic Director – Place

Creating a culture of enterprise.

Serving a vibrant and distinctive place which includes the city of Bath with its world heritage status, we are a top performing council with ambitious plans for the future and you can play a crucial role in our success.

Providing strategic leadership to the delivery of infrastructure and place based services, you will bring a clear vision to a newly formed directorate and an innovative approach to delivering improved services with less money. Focused on building an enabling culture, you will challenge silo thinking and ensure the service is best placed to deliver excellent outcomes for the people of Bath and North East Somerset.

Critical to your success will be your ability to communicate a compelling vision to key stakeholders internally and externally at local, regional and national levels. Both credible and influential in your dealings with others, you will be skilled in building strong strategic partnership relationships.

Your substantial record of senior level achievement will be matched by an inspirational and inclusive leadership style which reflects the values of the organisation. You will also have good commercial and political awareness, a readiness to embrace change and manage risk, and the ability to operate and thrive in tight financial constraints.
