As part of the Corporate Management Team providing leadership to the Council, our new Strategic Director for Corporate Resources will be responsible for the leadership, strategic direction and development of the Council's Corporate Resources Department which provides corporate services to the Council including Communications, Finance, Human Resources, Legal Services, Property and Transformation.

The role will lead on the consolidation of existing corporate services into a new corporate Directorate and on developing opportunities for shared services with partners.

The successful candidate will have excellent strategic leadership skills, and be able to lead, influence and motivate employees successfully through change while maintaining a strong performance culture.

He/she will have a successful track record at a senior strategic level in a comparable multi-functional organisation with an appropriate qualification in at least one of the fields within the portfolio of the role.

An understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the public sector, together with a passion for public service, and the vision and ambition that we need to take us forward is essential.
