Glasgow City Council's community service supervisors are continuing their 10-week strike over pay, despite lobbying the authority for a resolution. The 20-strong group of supervisors launched their industrial action on 6 January, in a dispute over the pay and grading of their jobs. Last Friday, the Unison members took their protest to Glasgow City Chambers to press councillors for a resolution. Unison's Glasgow City branch secretary, Brian Smith, said: ‘After 10 weeks of strike, our members remain solid. The council should recognise the justice of our members' claim, and their determination to achieve a fair wage and resist pay cuts.' A council spokesman said: ‘We have made an appropriate offer and it has been rejected. We remain open to further talks.'
