The extent of disruption to the public sector in 2011 has been revealed by a new CMI survey revealing that more than 80% of public sector managers reported difficulties as a result of strike action and severe winter weather.
The temporary BlackBerry mobile-phone outage last year disrupted the operations of 42% of respondents to the survey, while the summer riots disrupted 34% of managers. And, one in five public managers reported that the Arab Spring uprisings affected them, while 14% were impacted by the Japanese earthquake and tsunami.
