Relying on supermarkets to drive forward town centre redevelopments could be a costly mistake, the Government's architectural advisers warned.

A new report by CABE warned supermarket-led developments will not be an asset to the community if they are not well designed. Supermarket-led development: asset or liability? is based on reviews by CABE of 30 major schemes around the country by retailers including Tesco, Asda, and Sainsbury's.
