Suffolk CC has suggested moving to a single unitary authority as part of the county's pending local government reorganisation could lead to reduced council taxes.

The county council claimed a key benefit of plumping for its proposal to replace Suffolk's five districts and one county authority with a single unitary would be ‘harmonising council tax to the lowest level' across the region.
