Businesses in Suffolk have launched a bid to win contracts for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Suffolk CC is hosting an advice session which will introduce businesses to the range of up-and-coming contract opportunities available from the games. The London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) will shortly reveal contracts worth £700m for goods and services, mainly through its CompeteFor website, and pressure is on to ensure the whole of UK business benefits. Cllr Bruce Provan, portfolio holder for skills and economic development, said: ‘This event is a must for companies in Suffolk which are looking to develop their business.'
