Rock legends Bruce Springsteen, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Coldplay are heading to Sunderland AFC's Stadium of Light football ground this summer, thanks to a successful partnership between the club and the city council.
Gary Hutchinson, Sunderland AFC's commercial director, said the council had been ‘unwavering' in its support.
