Surrey CC has announced the appointment of a new head of highways. Jason Russell has been selected as assistant director highways.

He was previously the county council's head of change and performance and, since joining in 2007, has also spent periods as acting head of Surrey Highways and contract manager for the Surrey Highways Partnership.
