Cable & Wireless has signed an £18m contract with Surrey CC to provide all its telecom requirements until 2013. The company will manage the Surrey Wide Area Network and run the council's IP telephony system. The council signed its first contract with Cable & Wireless in 2001. This is the second time it has been extended. ‘Our work with Surrey is a great example of joined-up government in action,' said the company's director of public sector, Martin Goodman.
