Contractor, May Gurney, has signed a £60m deal with Surrey CC to maintain the local authority's 3,000 miles of roads.

The firm pledged to repair almost 30,000 potholes a year, within 24 hours of them being reported, under the terms of agreement in the new, six-year contract.
