Town hall bosses have revealed that the Department of Health (DoH) has increased funding for an adult social care improvement programme by 60% as education ministers scrap funding for the Children's Improvement Board (CIB).
Speaking to The MJ, the outgoing chairman of the Towards Excellence in Councils' Adult Social Care (TEASC) programme and former Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) president, Peter Hay, said their funding for this year has increased to £800,000.
