Surrey CC's campaign to get 200 teenagers into work is more than three-quarters of the way to reaching its target, just months after it was launched.

The county council said 154 companies had each received a £1,500 grant after hiring apprentices, and there were just 46 places left. Council leader, Cllr David Hodge, launched the offer in July, and said the response so far has been ‘fantastic'.
