Telford and Wrekin Council has kicked-off plans to cut the number of its councillors, in a bid to save cash and streamline democracy.

Council proposals to reduce the number of councillors from 54 to 40 – saving £200,000 a year – received unanimous support at a council meeting last Thursday.
