Nottingham City Council is set to become the first local authority in England to move all of its schools to a five-term year.

Nottingham City Council is set to become the first local authority in England to move all of its schools to a five-term year.

Pupils will still get 13 weeks holiday in the school year, but instead of the traditional three terms and long summer break, there will be five eight-week terms. The council plans to switch over to the new system in September 2013.
