The London Assembly has summonsed former commissioner for transport, Bob Kiley, before it to answer questions about his consultancy work. Mr Kiley reportedly said last month he did ‘very little' as a consultant to Transport for London (TfL), despite an annual salary of £737,500. Mayor Ken Livingstone has also been summonsed to explain exactly what Mr Kiley does to justify his income. ‘Mr Kiley is one of the highest-paid public servants in the country and Londoners deserve to know the contents of his contract,' said assembly member, Angie Bray. ‘This is not about Mr Kiley's personal problems, but rather about the comments regarding what he does or does not do for his money.' Both men are expected to appear before the London Assembly next month. A spokesman for the mayor said: ‘Mr Kiley is one of the world's leading transport experts. He was worth every penny of his salary, and helped build one of the best leadership teams in the world. ‘The mayor is happy to answer questions from the London Assembly on this.'
