The Local Government Association has warned that scrap metal thieves are putting lives in danger by stealing road signs, drain covers and copper. ‘These thefts are a threat to safety, with mindless thieves out to make a fast profit with no regard for the damage they cause,' said safer communities board chair, Cllr Hazel Harding.
