Thousands of bins missed as council rolls out new service

Denbighshire CC has apologised after waste from thousands of households was not collected as a new recycling service was rolled out.

Denbighshire CC's chief executive has apologised after waste from thousands of households was not collected as a new recycling service was rolled out.

The council said it recognised residents' ‘frustrations' and expected difficulties would ease as the new service was embedded.

Chief executive Graham Boase said: ‘In rolling out our new system, we've encountered some issues and problems, and that has resulted in people having missed collections.

'For that I apologise.

‘We accept it is a sizable minority that runs into thousands of households that haven't had their waste collected.'

Temporary measures including extra vehicles and staff, extended working and additional staff have been introduced to help resolve issues.
