Other councils engaged in wi-fi projects include Bristol, Islington, Liverpool and Sunderland. l Westminster City Council has launched a competition to find the best idea that helps local residents by using the borough's wi-fi network. The scheme is being run with the council's business partner Vertex, and BT aims to build on its role as a pioneering Wireless City.
