Doncaster MBC has achieved an underspend of £10.4m in 2010/11 through increased efficiencies and budget management, it claims.
The figure includes back-office savings, VAT refunds of £1.4m, £2.7m generated from business rates rebates for schools, and another £1.4m in savings from improved waste management.
