Blackpool Council's illuminations department held the ultimate in January sales this week – selling off some of its famous displays. Everything from illuminated seahorses to Thunderbird 3 were sold off, and there was even a special festive sale for residents already thinking about next Christmas. ‘I am obviously very sad to see these fabulous illuminations go,' said cabinet member for regeneration and tourism, Cllr Maxine Callow. ‘But, at the same time, I am very pleased the public is being given the chance to own such an unusual piece of memorabilia.'
