Cllr Graham Chapman, deputy leader of Nottingham City Council, has lambasted the Government's regional growth fund (RGF) for failing to invest any money to stimulate the East Midlands economy in the 16 months since it was established.

Cllr Chapman said: ‘The solution is to devolve money to local enterprise partnerships (LEPS) which are currently toothless, as they have no capital to invest, but which could probably move a lot faster than Whitehall is currently doing.'
