Moves to replace Devon CC's historic coat of arms with a new leafy logo have run into opposition from Tory councillors and the local Tory MP for East Devon Hugo Swire, who have condemned the plan as a ‘ridiculous waste of money'. The county's ruling Liberal-Democrat group has claimed research showed most people backed the new logo, and believed the coat of arms was out-of-date.
