Scottish finance minister John Swinney has issued a warning to Aberdeen City Council to sort out ongoing problems with its accounts. Mr Swinney met with council representatives last week to discuss a damming report from the Accounts Commission on the authority's finances. A Scottish government spokesman said: βAt the meeting, the minister made clear that he expects the council to make urgent progress towards addressing the concerns raised by the Accounts Commission report and that he will be monitoring closely the council's actions to improve its performance.'
