Tower Hamlets improving but risk of 'optimism bias'

Tower Hamlets LBC has improved and continues to show ‘strong financial management’ but a tendency toward ‘optimism bias’ remains, according to a sector-led progress review.

Tower Hamlets LBC has improved and continues to show ‘strong financial management' but a tendency toward ‘optimism bias' remains, according to a sector-led progress review.

The Local Government Association (LGA) Corporate Peer Challenge progress review, following an initial visit two years ago, also reported that claims of a ‘two-council culture' between the elected mayor Lutfur Rahman's office and other officers was not now raised by staff as an issue.
