District and county councillors have given the go ahead for a £60m investment programme in Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre which could generate up to 700 new jobs.
Newcastle-under-Lyme DC and Staffordshire CC are poised to jointly buy the freehold of a former Sainsbury's supermarket which will form the site of a major new retail development.
