Crewe and Nantwich BC has paid tribute to Gwyneth Dunwoody MP, who died last week, aged 77. Mayor Maurice Jones said Mrs Dunwoody, who had represented Crewe and Nantwich since 1974, was a ‘great champion of the borough'. Council chief executive, Paul Ancell, said: ‘Ms Dunwoody was a driving force in promoting the area at every opportunity, and its growth and prosperity is, in no small part, due to her efforts and commitment.' The borough's flags will be flown at half-mast until the day of her funeral.
