The future of the British Formula 1 Grand Prix is looking more secure, after two district councils backed a critical redevelopment plan. South Northamptonshire DC's cabinet this week gave the go ahead in principle to planning guidance that will shape the future of Silverstone. However, the development brief will only be finally adopted if the British Drivers' Racing Club (BRDC) proves it can only fund the plans though an ‘enabling' development which includes up to 190 new homes. Cllr Andrew Grant of South Northamptonshire DC, said: ‘We've always been proud to have the Grand Prix and we know that it brings a significant benefit.'
