A major new housing project in Leeds is poised for final Treasury approval, after Whitehall officials this week gave the city council a green light to provide part-funding for the scheme.

The council's executive board decided on 18 July to support the Little London, Beeston Hill and Holdbeck PFI project, following an investor pulling out.
