The busy news cycle means the latest Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) survey went virtually unnoticed by the media. And yet it contains a startling statement: ‘Less than a quarter of directors of adult social services are fully confident their budgets will be sufficient to meet the care and support needs of people who draw on care this year'.
In other words, more than 75% of directors of adult social services identify that due to financial pressures, there is a risk they will unlawfully deny people their rights to care.
