Welfare ministers have extended Universal Credit social housing pilot projects by an additional six months, after latest findings revealed a slight increase in rent collection rates.

Welfare ministers have extended Universal Credit social housing pilot projects by an additional six months, after latest findings revealed a slight increase in rent collection rates to an average of 94%.

The average 94% collection figure, which was based on some 6,168 tenants paying total housing rent worth £19.2m, represented a 2% increase compared with the first four months of the schemes which started last summer.
