Unison this week hit out at the Local Government Association for ‘boasting' about deep cuts to council staff.
The LGA announced on 24 April that councils in England and Wales had cut £1.4bn from their annual paybill – a 9.7% saving for council taxpayers –throughout 2011/12 year.
