A civil service trade union has balloted Audit Commission staff over possible industrial action, amid claims the watchdog's senior officials are refusing to apply Fair Deal provisions to the transfer of staff pensions ahead of its planned closure in 2013.
Prospect's ballot closes on 28 November, and the union has issued forms to around 600 staff based at the commission's London headquarters and nine regional offices.
