Union urges staff to back new retirement agreement

Unison has urged 660,000 of its members within the LGPS to approve new retirement arrangements which could take effect from 2014.

Unison has urged 660,000 of its members within the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) to approve new retirement arrangements which could take effect from 2014.

A ballot on the proposals, which runs until 24 August, has been sent to around 580,000 members in local government, 40,000 in the policing sector and the criminal justice system, 17,000 in community services, and 6,000 in the water, environment and transport group.
