Trades unions in Hammersmith and Fulham have accused the ruling Conservative administration of waging a ‘class war' against the poorest in the borough. Hammersmith and Fulham Trades Union Council spokesman, Bert Schouwenberg, said cuts in council services went against David Cameron's recent talk of social inclusion. ‘The Tory council is prosecuting a class war,' he claimed. But council leader, Stephen Greenhalgh, countered: ‘This is absolute rubbish. I have just returned from the Conservative Councillors Association conference where David Cameron praised Hammersmith and Fulham LBC in his speech.'
