Unions have criticised plans by Waltham Forest LBC to change staff pay, terms and conditions, as consultation on the issue has ended.

In a joint response submitted to the council joint consultative committee (CJCC), Unison, Unite and GMB unions called the move to cut pay by 2%, remove sick pay for the first three days, and slash overtime pay as ‘unfair and unjust'. The unions said removal of sick pay could affect Disability Discrimination Act-recognised conditions, such as asthma, where a day off work might be needed after a severe attack.
