A group of nine unions, including Unison, has applied for a judicial review into the proposed changes to the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). The unions are currently in negotiations with the Government to protect public sector pension rights, and are also balloting members on strike action over the plans. Amicus has already committed to a walkout. Unison general secretary, Dave Prentis, said: βOn behalf of the members of LGPS, we want to expose the incorrect financial information on which the Government has based its decision to single out for unfair treatment, some of the lowest-paid workers in the country.'
