Unison members have given a ringing endorsement to a package of proposals in the Local Government Pension Scheme. The package includes the retention of the final salary scheme, a more flexible definition for periods of pensionable pay, as well as increased death in service and death in retirement benefits. ‘These improvements are attributable to delivering hard work, highly-successful campaigning, and industrial action by our branches and negotiators over the past two years,' said general secretary, Dave Prentis.
