A time for unity, not division

There is still time to press for more collaborative place working across the public sector, writes Matthew Taylor.

A longstanding council leader used to tell me the problem with the NHS was that it behaved like a cut-off part of the state. Against the current economic and political backdrop, it's crucial we don't prove him right.

The abolition of NHS England and reductions in ICB and provider running costs came as a shock to many. It's as if the NHS got jealous of the size of the reforms underway in local government and wanted to grab the attention.
