US managers could bring new chapter for libraries

The American library management company, LSSI, is now in talks with 16 local authorities to run their libraries in the UK.

The American library management company, LSSI, is now in talks with 16 local authorities to run their libraries in the UK.

Speaking to The MJ this week the vice president of LSSI UK, Stuart Fitzgerald, said the company was now in direct discussions with councils, including Oxfordshire CC about taking over the running of library branches, which might otherwise be marked for closure.
