An estimated 10,000 village halls supporting rural communities are at risk of closure unless volunteer groups are given proper support, the countryside campaigners Action with Communities in Rural England has warned.

As part of a national campaign to retain village halls, a publication entitled Community assets: Keep their future vibrant is being sent to local councils, MPs and other decision-makers.
