Viridor cuts costs as pre-tax profits tumble

Pre-tax profits at Viridor have fallen by more than a third, as the company claims it is taking action to cut costs.

Pre-tax profits at the waste and recycling contractor Viridor have fallen by more than a third, as the company claims it is taking 'aggressive' action to cut costs.

According to figures published by the Pennon Group on 23 May, which owns the com-pany, Viridor's pre-tax profits for the year ending 31 March have fallen by 36.6% on the previous year to £36.5m.
