South Tyneside MBC has unveiled a £100m plan to transform South Shields and turn it into the North East's premier coastal resort.
‘Our vision for South Shields is to make it a place of year-round cultural, leisure and retail activity for residents, businesses and visitors,' said council leader, Cllr Iain Malcolm.
